Relatively new to the U.S. market, the innovative compounds of the Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Group have already enjoyed commercial success under the brand labels of our U.S. partners. In this next phase of development, we plan to bring exciting new compounds to market under our own MT Pharma America label. We’re currently building a new commercial organization and expanding our other functions to support this strategy.

 

The MBA/Graduate Summer Intern (Marketing) is responsible for executing specific programs and project work to help promote RADICAVA® (edaravone) to patients, physicians and advocacy organizations. This position will have significant involvement with other functional areas such as sales, medical, market access and public relations at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America Headquarters in Jersey City, New Jersey.  This position is a summer internship that will last approximately 10 – 12 weeks.

 

This position offers an extraordinary opportunity for individuals interested in building experience in commercialization for Orphan Drug and Specialty Markets, therapeutic areas with high unmet needs, while working with a cross-functional team rich in exceptional talent.

Responsibilities

  • Develop promotional pieces for RADICAVA® (edaravone) in the US. Execute project plan seamlessly to meet or exceed project objectives.
  • Work directly with vendors to write project plans and budgets sensitive to bottom-line Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America
  • Participate in a world-class team to ensure Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America is recognized as among the industry’s best.
  • Work with cross functional teams to create effective, positive partnerships with peers and key internal/ external stakeholders and ensure alignment with key stakeholders.
  • Leverage existing business knowledge from MBA coursework to advance the company’s internal effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all activities are in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Analyze business opportunities to either save money or improve revenue performance. Proactively seek out and evaluate new best practices and identify/incorporate industry best practices.
  • Perform company-specific and product-specific desktop research to further inform commercial assessments; support the development/analysis of tailored external market research through third parties.
  • Develop key analyses and presentations for senior leadership and other stakeholders in support of business development/commercialization planning investment decisions.
  • Final presentation will be given to senior leadership (Vice President) discussing key project and/or lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Current pursuit of MBA or Graduate degree in progress.
  • Minimum of 2 years of business experience. Healthcare, advertising or marketing related experience preferred.
  • Strong demonstrated interest in pharmaceutical business or marketing.
  • Understands fundamentals of product promotion and advertising.
  • Recent relevant coursework related to marketing, pharmaceutical/healthcare business or advertising.
  • General knowledge of commercial agreements and intellectual property issues.
  • Leads by example, displaying integrity, collaboration, accessibility, adaptability, sound judgment/decision making, and an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-through coupled with ability to prioritize/multi-task effectively.
  • Use analytical/strategic skills to synthesize complex information, distill critical insights to inform commercial assessments, and translate to tactical level.Outstanding business case development skills, financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Highly proficient in MS Office; skilled at using Excel to develop pharmaceutical/other product forecast models and quantitative analyses.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Pharma industry, and related regulatory, commercialization and compliance requirements is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 20% domestically and internationally for business and project meetings as required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment, i.e. computers, phones, copy machine/printer
  • Ability to carry, handle and reach for objects
  • Ability to lift and pull up to 15 pounds
