The Manager, Analytics & Insights generates analytic insights, conducts and manages market research projects, monitors competition, and contributes to demand forecasts for existing and future brands at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, Inc. (MTPA).

Responsibilities

  • Conducts data analysis and generates insight on launched products to report on performance and guide management and the field
  • Manages market research projects for in-line and pipeline brands for US and/or Canada launch, including message testing, payer/pricing research, physician ATUs, patient ATUs, forecast demand research, and patient journey research
  • Contributes to launch analytic strategies and overall commercialization efforts on in-line and pipeline brands to meet or exceed launch plan objectives
  • Applies an in-depth understanding of orphan drugs and specialty pharmaceuticals in the CNS space, working with specialty pharmacies, home infusion, reimbursement and payer issues, buy-and-bill process and the J-Code application process
  • Manages vendors with an eye towards bottom-line MTPA profitability
  • Manages multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, adheres to tight timelines, and ensures deadlines are met while achieving high quality output
  • Works with cross-functional teams to create effective, positive partnerships with peers and key internal/ external stakeholders and ensures alignment of business needs and objectives
  • Contributes and/or runs projects related to competitive landscape monitoring, sales force sizing, sales force IC design, and ROI analyses of sales and marketing efforts
  • Conducts other analysis as needed
  • Works cross-functionally and collaboratively with Commercial Operations colleagues, Strategy & Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and external partners
  • Analytics on HCP Portal utilization and effectiveness

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, with strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry commercial analytics and market research
  • 3-5 years in a role with heavy data analysis, database manipulation, modeling, market research project management, and competitive monitoring
  • Solid experience with pharmaceutical industry launches related to orphan drugs and specialty pharmaceuticals, preferably in the CNS space, and working with specialty pharmacies, home infusion, reimbursement and payer issues, buy-and- bill process and the J-Code application process
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Pharma industry, broad therapeutic areas/disease states, drugs/treatments, and related regulatory, commercialization and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of commercial launch process related to orphan drugs and specialty pharmaceuticals (e.g., specialty pharmacies, reimbursements, etc.)
  • Proven analytical skills; able to synthesize complex information, distill critical insights to inform commercial strategies, and then translate to tactical level
  • Proficiency with analysis of data aggregated from a patient hub
  • Proven understanding of IMS data
  • Strong organization, prioritization and project management skills; proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to timeline and budget
  • Business case development skills and strong financial acumen
  • Leads by example; displays integrity, collaboration, accessibility, adaptability, sound judgment/decision making, responsiveness, attention to detail and strong follow-through

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly proficient in MS Office; skilled at using Excel to develop pharmaceutical product forecast models and quantitative analyses
  • Willingness to travel 20% domestically and internationally
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment, i.e. computers, phones, copy machine/printer
  • Ability to carry, handle and reach for objects
  • Ability to lift and pull up to 15 pounds
