With the recent FDA approval and availability in the U.S. of RADICAVA® (edaravone), a treatment option for people diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), MTPA is rapidly expanding our operation across all functional areas to launch this new product in the U.S. market. Concurrently, the company is expanding its research efforts and exploring collaborations with partners to discover and bring treatments to market for unmet medical needs including orphan diseases. The Marketing Manager will help develop and execute integrated marketing plans and tactics. Initially, the work will focus on marketing RADICAVA™ (edaravone) though the incumbent will likely support other products/portfolios as the company’s pipeline expands. The Marketing Manager will perform across the full product life cycle: pre-launch activities, marketing material creation, market research, marketing launch plan, strategic/tactical launch process execution, followed by on-going post-launch marketing. Marketing efforts will be directed to multiple audiences (e.g., patients/consumers, caregivers, advocates, and HCPs). The role requires close collaboration with other marketing staff, other Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America functional areas as well as patients, caregivers, advocates, HCPs/KOLs, creative agencies and other external partners.

  • Assists with development of strategic, tactical and execution launch plans, sales materials, internal documents and training materials, drawing on strong project management/organizational skills to subsequently execute assigned tasks seamlessly to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Works effectively and closely with other Marketing colleagues, sales leadership, market access , , and external agencies/partners, creating effective, positive partnerships that ensure alignment of business needs and objectives.
  • Assists in the development of marketing materials with the Agency of Record (AOR) and works diligently within established internal processes to secure Medical, Legal, and Regulatory approval of all pieces.
  • Assists in the execution of communication platform featuring key medical thought leader speakers , including but not limited to:  speaker deck content development, leadership of speaker communication and engagement strategy, and leading other innovative educational tactics.
  • Assists, as requested, with the process of negotiating contracts and onboarding new agencies and external partners in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Performs a broad range of research-oriented duties as requested by management: competitive analysis, market trend analysis, identification of new data sources, tools, and analytics; identification of industry best practices, identification of potential creative partners, etc.
  • Attends industry events, as required, and effectively represents the company to a broad audience including patients, caregivers, advocates and HCPs.
  • Based on initial research and analysis, makes initial business recommendations/presentations to Marketing team, and potentially to other stakeholders, to win buy-in and promote continuous improvement.
  • Provides ongoing measurement against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with recommendations for improvement/optimization.
  • Performs other duties as required.


  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in science or healthcare preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience with at least 3 years of pharmaceutical business experience such as Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Business Development or similar.

  • Leads by example, displaying integrity, collaboration, accessibility, adaptability, sound judgment/decision making, and an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Project management skills; proven ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Strong desktop research/analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with sensitivity for the patient’s journey; ability to interact effectively with patients, caregivers, advocates and others.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and formal presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Pharma industry and regulations coupled with enthusiasm to build marketing expertise, including digital tactics (SEM, SEO, web, app).
  • Willingness to travel 15% domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment, i.e. computers, phones, copy machine/printer
  • Ability to carry, handle and reach for objects
  • Ability to lift and pull up to 15 pounds
