    The Senior Associate, Corporate Communications and Digital Content collaborates with and assists the Director, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications in implementing strategic External Communications at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, Inc. (MTPA). The Senior Associate provides communications planning and tactical execution in support of the company and its brands. The Senior Associate will perform across the full product life cycle: pre-launch activities, communications material creation, market landscape research, planning and program implementation. Communications efforts will be directed to multiple audiences (e.g., patients/consumers, caregivers, advocates, and HCPs). The role requires close collaboration with other Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America functional areas as well as patients, caregivers, advocates, HCPs/KOLs, creative agencies and other external partners.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Harnesses strong writing skills to develop broad range of communication materials (e.g., press releases, messaging Q&A documents, media pitches, PowerPoint presentations)
    • Provides communications support for medical congresses/meetings, government relations meetings, and other external events.
    • Assists in the development of public relations and media materials with Agency of Record (AOR) and works diligently within our processes to secure Medical, Legal, regulatory approval of all pieces.
    • Collaborates with Marketing brand teams, Patient Engagement, Medical Affairs, Market Access and other functional areas, as required, to raise awareness of new products, programs, partnerships and initiatives.
    • Creates compelling digital content for the company’s social media sites (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).
    • Develops written content and digital strategy for corporate website, working closely with an external agency to facilitate updates to the website.
    • Manages social media editorial calendar. Identifies newsworthy topics; solicits ideas regularly from functional areas and external sources. Ensures that digital platforms benefit from a steady flow of fresh, relevant topics that are appropriate and that feature and promote MTPA stories and spokespersons.
    • Ensures that all digital communications content is timely, error-free, and aligned with approved MTPA themes and messaging.
    • Provides writing/editing (e.g., emails, PPT presentations, executive bios, speeches, etc.) and general communications to support employee communications and engagement.
    • Develops or enhances existing templates, communication standards and materials; applies same while providing guidance and strategic communications planning support to colleagues at all levels.
    • Performs a broad range of research-oriented duties as requested by management: competitive analysis, communications landscape trend analysis, identification of new data sources and tools, identification of industry best practices, identification of potential creative partners, etc.
    • Attends healthcare industry events/medical meetings, as required, and effectively represents the company to a broad audience including patients, caregivers, advocates and HCPs.
    • Provides ongoing program measurement via surveys, focus groups, and other methods with recommendations for improvement/optimization.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related.
    • Preferred: Master’s degree
    • Minimum of 2 years of public relations communications experience including: press materials development, media pitching and social media activities
    • Preferred: PR agency experience; healthcare industry or non-profit experience a plus
    • Solid understanding of communications planning and execution.
    • Exceptional writing skills. Proven ability to quickly produce compelling, error-free written copy for digital and other channels.
    • Strong multi-tasking skills and deadline-driven. Formal project management skills are a plus.
    • Collaborative team player who has outstanding internal/external client management and cross-cultural skills.
    • Comfortable working with senior executive levels.
    • Fluent in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    • Willingness to travel up to 15% (domestic and international)
    • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
    • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment, i.e. computers, phones, copy machine/printer
    • Ability to carry, handle and reach for objects
    • Ability to lift and pull up to 15 pounds
