    The Senior Manager of Scientific Affairs will be responsible for supporting the execution of MTPA’s Scientific Affairs programs in US that support marketed and late development products and compounds with a focus in Neurology.  These Scientific Affairs programs and activities will fulfill the following criteria:  be scientifically and clinically sound, meet the needs of the medical and patient communities or other constituencies, be executed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and company policies.  


    • In collaboration with the Sr. Medical Director of Scientific Affairs, lead strategic assessment, planning and execution of scientific communications; and resolution of medical information escalations and product queries.
    • Manage and execute all timelines and coordination with Sr. Director, Medical Affairs for all Scientific Communications and Publications
    • Manage the internal editorial process between cross functional teams and external communication with the journals, and authors.

    • Performs literature searches and review to translate primary literature into an understandable format for the sales force.
    • Coordinate presentations and writing of scientific publications by key opinion leaders to promote products and new uses of existing products.
    • Coordinate the publication management process and ensure accurate and timely record keeping within the company’s publication tracker.
    • Coordinate and lead the creation of scientific presentations and other materials as directed by the Sr. Director, Medical Affairs.
    • Plan and execute project deliverables pertaining to Medical Congresses, Medical Meetings, Medical Educational events, and internal scientific training.
    • Assist in the development of a conference and communication strategies.
    • Collaborate with Medical Affairs on development and maintenance of the Scientific Platform.
    • Participate in developing scientific content on behalf of MTPA for use at medical conferences and other events as required.
    • Participate in promotional material development and review ensuring scientific accuracy and fair balance.
    • Manage Medical Information vendor in data analysis, tracking FAQ trends and assuring all materials are current and in compliance with company and regulatory policies.
    • Manage product safety related activities related to Scientific Affairs by participating in meetings with the Pharmacovigilance and Quality Assurance departments, managing SOP updates, disseminations, and trainings.
    • Support the process, development, and deliverables for all MTPA publications (i.e., manuscripts, posters, abstracts, presentations, and related scientific communications.
    • Functions as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on disease state, clinical data, and other considerations impacting patient care
    • Assist the Sr. Medical Director, Parkinson’s Disease with ad hoc projects and duties as needed.
    • Complete all company and job-related training as assigned within the required timelines.

    • Required: Advanced Degree in Life Sciences: PharmD or PhD.
    • Preferred: MBA
    • 3-5+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotech company.
    • Experience in Neurosciences preferred; preferably in the area of neurodegenerative disorders or Parkinson’s Disease.
    • Ability to develop and maintain credible relationships with internal pharma colleagues and external constituents (medical community, patient community, support service contracts.
    • Strategic thinker who can clearly anticipate future needs, consequences, and trends and then develop and drive appropriate tactical plans to fill these strategic imperatives
    • Demonstrated knowledge of regulations governing promotional activities coupled with highly developed sense of ethics, integrity and commitment to patients and customers.
    • Possesses fundamental leadership skills.
    • Good oral/written communication skills
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills, demonstrated independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
    • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, or as needed.
