The Manager, Analytics & Insights is responsible for generating reports and analytic insights, managing market research projects, summarizing and synthesizing key insights, monitoring competition, and contributing to forecasts for existing and future brands at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America.  The position sits within Commercial Operations and reports to an Associate Director, Commercial Analytics & Insights.

  • Conducts data analysis and generates insight on launched products to report on performance to guide management and the field in the US and Canada
  • Manages market research projects for in-line and pipeline brands for US and/or Canada launch, including message testing, payer/pricing research, physician attitudes, trial, and utilization (ATUs), patient ATUs, forecast demand research, and patient journey research
  • Contributes to launch analytic strategies and overall commercialization efforts on in-line and pipeline brands to meet or exceed launch plan objectives
  • Contributes to pipeline and in-line product forecasts.
  • Monitors the competitive landscape and updates upper management in US and Japan
  • Conducts ad hoc ROI analyses of sales and marketing efforts
  • Conducts other analysis as needed
  • Applies an in-depth understanding of Orphan Drugs and Specialty Pharmaceuticals, preferably in the CNS space, working with Specialty Pharmacies, Home Infusion, reimbursement and payer issues, buy-and- bill process and the J-Code application process
  • Manages vendors with an eye towards bottom-line Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America profitability
  • Demonstrates impeccable professionalism, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and adhere to tight timelines and ensure deadlines are met with high quality output
  • Works with cross-functional teams to create effective, positive partnerships with peers and key internal/ external stakeholders and ensure alignment of business needs and objectives  


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, with knowledge of pharmaceutical industry commercial analytics and market research, preferably with 3-5 years in a role with data analysis, reporting, market research project management, and competitive monitoring   
  • Experience with pharmaceutical industry launches, preferably with dynamics related to Orphan Drugs in the Neurology/CNS market
  • Experience with analysis of data aggregated from a patient Hub and other distribution models
  • Experience with IQVIA and other industry-standard data
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the pharma industry, broad therapeutic areas/disease states, drugs/treatments, and related regulatory, commercialization and compliance requirements
  • Analytical thinker who can also synthesize complex information, distill critical insights to inform commercial strategies, and then translate to tactical level
  • Leads by example, displaying integrity, collaboration, accessibility, adaptability, sound judgment/decision making, and an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented attitude
  • Demonstrates responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-through coupled with ability to prioritize/multi-task effectively
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly proficient in MS Office; skilled at and interested in developing pharmaceutical product forecast models and quantitative analyses
  • Willingness to travel 20% domestically and internationally for business and project meetings as require
