The Manager, Market Access will develop and implement integrated strategies to engage key stakeholders that may be involved in pricing and access of the organization’s current and future therapeutic areas. This incumbent will be accountable for responsibilities spanning from pre-launch to the mature phase of products that include collaborating with Patented Medicine Price / Drug Review Boards, Pricing Guidelines filing and reporting, Drug and Health Technology Agencies, Pharmaceutical Alliances and individual provinces customers and processes.

 

This incumbent will also collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Patient Support & Patient Advocacy, Sales and provide direct support to the Director of Pricing, Market Access & Government Affairs in the development and implementation of brands patient-driven access strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative market access strategies and tactical plans to achieve optimal reimbursement.
  • Define the overall payer strategy to execute the reimbursement strategy, inclusive of integration of key stakeholders, key health care practitioners, policy, and regulations.
  • Initiate and conduct various payer analyses to help inform sound private and public payer strategies.
  • Formulate evidence-based payer value propositions based on a robust understanding of public and private payers and their decision-making systems.
  • Ensure the development of high-quality submissions including HTA (Health Technology Assessment) submissions to public and private payers with the support of Medical, Regulatory, Global HEOR (Health Economics and Outcomes Research), and Marketing.
  • Adapt global pharmacoeconomic models to Agency, Drug Review and Alliance requirements.
  • Develop Budget Impact Analysis to support the market access strategy.
  • Manage the execution and tracking of product listing agreements.
  • Develop and manage the strategy around payer education and manage the development & implementation of payer educational events.
  • Develop and manage pricing strategies (PMPRB) filings as well as pricing filings across payers.
  • Monitor changes in pricing policies at the federal (PMPRB) and provincial levels to ensure (PMPRB) patented products compliance.
  • Manage projects and budgets within set targets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate key market access assumptions to support the development of forecasts and long-range plans and to ensure timely, accurate, and value-added reporting by developing ad hoc analysis and researching other requests to help support optimal and timely patient access.
  • Liaison with a variety of stakeholders (e.g., drug plan managers, patient advocacy group, medical specialists, etc.) involved in the reimbursement ecosystem.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and enhance corporate profile with key contacts within relevant provincial, federal health organizations and patient groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including relevant experience in Pricing, Market Access/Health Technology Assessment/Health Economics.
  • Experience in developing pricing strategies and submissions.
  • Sound understanding of key stakeholder dynamics within the Market Access environment.
  • Strategic Mindset; Business Acumen; Excellent Communication & Interpersonal, Collaboration; Planning and Alignment Skills.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Database applications.
  • Well-developed organizational & time management skills including but not limited to problem solving, analytical skills, thoroughness, attention to detail, autonomy, and resourcefulness.
